Our nationally recognised Test & Tag course is delivered through a virtual classroom, allowing you to complete your training remotely with a live trainer, while gaining the practical skills and Statement of Attainment required to meet Australian standards without overcomplicating the process.
The course leads to the UEESS00174 Electrical Safety Testing of Electrical Cord Connected Equipment and Cord Assemblies Skill Set, comprising the following units:
- UEERL0003 – Conduct In-service Safety Testing of Electrical Cord Assemblies and Cord Connected Equipment
- UEECD0007 – Apply Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Codes and Practices in the Workplace
This flexible delivery method combines self-paced online learning with an interactive trainer-led virtual classroom session, making it easy to gain nationally recognised skills from wherever you are.

Important Requirements for Virtual Classroom Participants
Before your training session, please ensure you have access to the following:
A Portable Appliance Tester (PAT)
capable of performing:
- Class I testing
- Class II testing
- Leads testing
- Leakage testing
- RCD testing (optional unless you are required to perform RCD testing)
A suitable device
with a reliable internet connection, including:
- PC or laptop (recommended)
- Tablet or iPad
- Working camera
- Working microphone
Microsoft Teams
installed and signed in on your device.
A suitable training environment
that is:
- Quiet and free from interruptions
- Safe for practical testing activities
- Private and suitable for assessment
- Equipped with sufficient workspace to complete the required practical activities
4 x Class I Appliances
(Class I appliances do not display the double insulation symbol of square within a square ⧈)
Examples include:
- Kettle, Iron, Toaster, Metal floor lamp, Electric frypan, Sandwich press, Portable heater with exposed metal surfaces
3 x Class II Appliances ⧈
(Class II appliances display double insulation symbol of square within a square ⧈)
Examples include:
- Hair dryer, Electric shaver, Handheld vacuum cleaner, Power tools (drills, sanders, etc.), Blender, Electric hand mixer, Plastic desk lamp, Laptop charger, Phone charger
Please ensure that at least one charger is included in your Class II appliances.
3 x Electrical Leads
Including:
- 1 x Extension lead, 1 x IEC lead, 1 x Domestic power board

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the following nationally recognised units:

By completing this course you will receive the Statement of Attainment for UEESS00174 Electrical Safety Testing of Electrical Cord Connected Equipment and Cord Assemblies Skill Set , comprising of UEERL0003 and UEECD0007.
This course is delivered in two parts:
Online Complete at your own pace before attending the virtual classroom session and Part UEERL0003.
- Unit 1 UEECD0007 – Apply Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Codes and
Practices in the Workplace (Approx 4 hours)
Virtual Classroom (4 hours | 9:00am to 1:00pm)
Trainer-led online session featuring interactive learning activities, demonstrations, group
discussions, and guided instruction.
- Unit 2 UEERL0003 – Conduct In-service Safety Testing of Electrical Cord
Assemblies and Cord Connected Equipment
On completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment.
